Like our mother’s tongue
Love has its language
I wish it is universal
But we speak different
love languages.
Since time immemorial
Language has been a barrier
Thankfully we have translators
to bridge the gap
But who will bridge this gap
called love language.
Two love birds
Attracted to each other
Hoping and wishing for
a future together
Painfully they speak
different love languages.
I want to be seen
I want to be heard
I want to be the sun
your earth revolves around
That’s also a love language.
If you love me
You would speak to me
You would say sweet words
that makes the honey jealous
That’s also a love language.
Love is expensive
Love is a gift
You can’t love, if your pocket
isn’t overflowing
That’s also a love language.
Love is in the warmth
The security your arm bring
The gentle kisses,
like the morning sun
kissing the earth
That’s also a love language.
Love is sacrificial
It’s an action word
It’s in the little helping hands
that makes life worth living
Hmm, that’s also a love language.
Love is deep
And to different persons,
it means different things
Just like our mothers tongue,
love is amazing
When lovers understand their
love languages.
WARRIOR
I do not have to be on the battlefield
to be called a warrior
Everyone fighting something
or fighting for something
is a warrior
Our tales of war might be different
Yet, I am no less a warrior
than you are.
Yours might be that of bloodshed
The battle against territories
People against people with bombs and grenade
Having a joy ride in the sky
Painfully, they are fulfilling
their purpose.
Maybe you are in a battle of craftsmanship
Where skills, consistency and results
are your weapons
Where sometimes it feels like
your hard work wasn’t appreciated
What else can I say than
let the best warrior win.
I am a warrior on the battle field
And I am fighting for the my identity
My pen and my voice are my only weapons
And I am no longer scared to use them.
THE LEGACY
Passed down from generation
to generation
Secrets passed from ancestors
to successors,
From parents to their children
From Lois to Eunice
– the legacy of Timothy
From my parents to me
– the same I will pass down
to my children.
The legacy of love
Sacrifice to mankind
Sweat and blood spent
to protect this legacy
The legacy without discrimination
A secret sacred, yet open to all
It is the legacy of the kingdom
The legacy of Christ, my Saviour.
